Optix is produced at Australian Papers Shoalhaven Mill, located on the northern bank of the Shoalhaven River in Bombaderry, 160 km south of Sydney

In order to reduce the green house gas emissions and water usage at the Shoalhaven Mill the coal-fired boiler at the Mill was replaced with a gas-fired boiler and the waste water treatment plant was re-engineered to achieve the same water quality outcome with less processing
